Warn Seniors of Home Invasion Robbery Threat

Spectrum
staff
Sacramento police issued an alert Thursday asking the community to be on alert
for home-invasion robbers who have targeted seniors in three recent attacks.
The robberies occurred April 5, April 12 and April 13. Each involved black male
suspects thought to be in their 20s who forcibly robbed a senior inside the victim’s
home.
The April 5 robbery occurred around noon on the 600 block of Fremont Way. An
82-year-old woman was gardening in her front yard when three suspects confronted
her. One stayed outside, police said, while the other two forced the victim inside
her home and took several items before fleeing.
On April 12 at 9 a.m., robbers hit the 2700 block of San Luis Court. An 86-year-old
woman was gardening in her backyard when two suspects jumped over a fence into
the yard. They forced her inside the home, tied her up and ransacked the house,
police said. The robbers took the woman’s wedding ring set.
The April 13 incident also occurred at 9 a.m. According to the Police Department
warning, an 80-year-old woman was inside her home on the 1100 block of Seamas
Avenue when three suspects forced her front door open. One suspect held a knife
to the victim’s neck while the others ransacked her home, taking money
and a laptop computer.
Police said all three suspects are black males in their 20s with black hair.
One is approximately 6 feet tall, with a thin build, and the other two are approximately
5 feet 8 inches tall, one thin and the other with a heavy build.
Anyone with information regarding the identification of the suspects can contact
Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP or 1-800-AA-CRIME. Callers may remain anonymous
and can earn up to a $1,000 reward.
