Candidate: William “Bill” S. Chambers
Ballot Designation: Railroad Switchman/Brakeman
Party: Republican

1. What do you consider the most pressing issue facing California’s senior citizens?
Medical costs and insurance, high taxes, fixed incomes.

2. Do you favor or oppose amending the rates of the following taxes:
Property tax -- Keep Prop. 13
State income tax -- Reduce after we’re out of debt.
Vehicle license fee -- Reduce immediately.
Gas tax -- Make sure the tax revenue goes to transportation-related projects as they are intended to do.

3. Do you favor or oppose putting new restrictions on older drivers?
I believe if anyone (at any age) cannot drive without endangering the lives of other drivers, their license should be revoked.

4. When putting together the state budget for the next fiscal year, would you change current levels of funding for any of the following programs:
In-Home Supportive Services
Adult Protective Services
SSI/SSP benefits
Foster Grandparents Program
Brown Bag Program
Senior Companion Program
California Commission on Aging
I would not change any needed programs for seniors at this time.

5. If elected, how will you improve California for seniors and all other residents?
By changing policies/laws that benefit all of California. Change/repeal laws/policies that make politicians exempt from those that the rest of us must follow.
